It might be hot outside, but here inside the Fiber Factory, we’re thinking about fall, and the upcoming holiday season. There are several holiday and gift themed classes scheduled to get you started and help get you through a sure to be hectic season.
By request, classes to help you knit a sweater that is designed by you, for you, to fit you have been developed by Mary for you! It’s all about you.
Lots of new classes for Crochet are on the schedule as well including a miser bag for stashing your valuables and Amigurmi for FUN.
Albert has been convinced to dig deep into his primitive tech skills bag and teach some classes he has not offered for a couple of years. Those of you who do not know Albert should take a class with him. It is quite an uncommon experience and just plain fun.
More new basket classes are scheduled, many having a holiday theme to decorate your abode or give as a treasured gift to that hard to please person on your list.
Hey, Sock Knitters! Opal sock yarn returns in December. Rockin Socks from Plymouth, Summer Sox and Alpaca Sox from Classic Elite have all been ordered. The Regia Exotic Collection of sock yarn designed by Kaffe Fassett should be here very soon.
A new worsted weight acrylic/nylon blend called Fantasy by Dark Horse Yarns will be arriving in more colors than you can imagine this fall. This yarn feels really nice and will retail for under five dollars for a 100 gram ball.
We can now special order any yarn, fiber or piece of equipment from Louet and have it shipped either to the shop or directly to you! Please let us know what you need.
For luxury at a reasonable price we have ordered “Bamboo and Silk” from KFI and the two new yarns in the Mirasol collection.
For you spinners and felters, a new Targhee hand dyed spinning fiber from Mountain Colors has been ordered.
Do you have a favorite handmade sweater or heirloom piece in need of repair or minor alterations? Call Elly at the shop on Wednesday's and she will let you know if repair is possible. She has been doing this type of work for a number of years and really loves saving your special pieces for you.
